Seeking a motivated and driven employee to oversee daily production, manage staff, ensure quality and safety compliance, and drive efficiency on the factory floor. Supporting employee development and fostering a team-oriented environment.
Schedule
Second shift, Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM.
Requirements
- 3+ years in manufacturing leadership in progressive roles, or 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Knowledge of the Fiber Optic Industry.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and problem resolution skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to understand and use data for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct manufacturing department walks every two hours per shift.
- Start- and end-of-shift communications: set expectations and review outcomes.
- Monitor and ensure department tasks are met, including validating Fiber Path cleanliness, LIFO, reworks, expedite, and engineering feedback.
- Prepare and deliver daily reports.
- Make operational decisions.
- Interview manufacturing applicants.
- Update work instructions and SPLs as needed.
- Procure department supplies using the equipment engineering database requisition form and approval process.
- Schedule personnel to ensure efficient use of labor in support of production requirements.
- Manage vacation scheduling and overtime as needed.
- Update and approve daily/weekly timecards.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and within specified guidelines.
- Review and prepare Maintain-X requests as needed.
- Validate required PPE and clean-room protocols are followed.
- Attend and participate in Department Safety Meetings.
- Review, prepare, and close out safety reports.
- Provide immediate phone notification to appropriate personnel whenever accidents occur.
- Serve as liaison for building evacuations, communicating with employees and emergency personnel.
- Act as liaison for power failures, following written guidelines and communication protocols.
- Call in Support Staff and/or Trades when required.
- Issue disciplinary action when necessary per company and plant policies.
- Communicate with Human Resources and Production Manager on matters of employee discipline, performance, vacations, attendance, and policy-related issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay
Hiring range: $75,000 – $90,000. Final offer may vary within this range based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
