Manufacturing Supervisor
About the role
The role of the Manufacturing Supervisor is to manage 2nd shift production, working from 3:00PM - 11:00PM, to achieve safety, quality, service, waste, productivity, and culture goals. This is accomplished by providing strong leadership to the team and effectively managing systems, equipment, people, and materials in accordance with established policies, procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
- Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
- Makes sure colleagues comply with regulatory and company safety and quality policies.
- Investigates and recommends improvements related to near miss, property damage, or employee injury incidents.
- Supports plant safety programs by actively participating in daily audits, GEMBAs, incident investigation and continuous improvement programs.
- Makes sure products conform to specifications.
- Oversees daily production to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Manages employee timecards and time-off requests to ensure accurate payroll and adequate coverage.
- Champions continuous improvement projects and ensures gains made from initiatives are sustained.
- Manages daily production schedules, providing recommendations on areas for improved efficiency.
- Handles equipment and material problems, interacts with Maintenance, Process Engineering, and others to resolve them.
- Investigates and reports when production standards are not met.
- Analyzes production information using the production dashboard and SAP.
- Fosters and supports a High Performance Culture; helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group.
- Supervises production employees and proactively acts upon employee relations opportunities.
- Makes sure colleague interactions comply with Amcor’s Values.
- Creates an open two-way dialogue with all colleagues; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Evaluates employee performance and conducts performance reviews while supporting employee growth and career development.
- Interprets and enforces company disciplinary process in a consistent and fair manner.
- Ensures employee training is current and concepts have been retained by the employee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations, production supervision, quality, maintenance or related experience preferred OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling 5 or more years.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer proficiency required (MS Office Suite experience preferred), SAP experience a plus.

Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $92,600; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $74,100 to $111,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location.
