Manufacturing Supervisor- 2nd Shift (Edwards Vacuum)

Location: Buffalo, NY – Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP). Facility address: 6685 Crosby Rd, Basom, NY 14013.

Salary Range: $79,530 - $99,420. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

About the role

The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures efficient product flow to meet or exceed customer demand while maintaining a safe, ergonomic work environment. Key performance measures include safety, on-time delivery, quality, efficiency, and utilization.

You will lead and develop manufacturing employees in a machining area to deliver cost-effective, timely components. Responsibilities include achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, fostering a customer-focused team culture, and driving continuous improvement. You will also liaise with management to smoothly introduce new products and processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cost-effective and on-time delivery of components and products.

• Develop a customer-focused team culture with an emphasis on operational flexibility.
• Promote and apply continuous improvement processes.
• Facilitate the smooth introduction of new products and processes to meet timescale, quality, and cost targets.
• Lead and motivate teams in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• High School Diploma or GED required; degree in Engineering Technology or Business preferred.
• 5 years of experience within a manufacturing operation, including 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience leading and motivating teams.
• Lean Management and/or Six Sigma experience.
• Experience facilitating and leading continuous improvement activities.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Physical Demands

• Sitting/Stationary: Frequently (40-50% of the time) for tasks such as designing, data analysis, or using CAD software.
• Hand and Finger Use/Dexterity: Occasionally to moderately (30-40% of the time) for tasks like sketching, operating computers, or handling small tools; near vision required.
• Standing/Walking: Frequently (30-40% of the time) to inspect production lines, collaborate with teams, or evaluate equipment.
• Moving Objects/Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally moves objects up to 20 pounds, such as tools or materials.
• Bending/Twisting/Reaching: Occasionally (20-30% of the time) to access equipment or inspect machinery.
• Repetitive Motions: Occasionally (20-30% of the time), such as typing or adjusting equipment.
• Environmental Factors: Frequently exposed to moderate noise levels and occasionally to contaminants or hazardous equipment (20-30% of the time). May require protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hard hats) 30-50% of the time. Works in both office and manufacturing settings with constant interaction with others.
