Solution Architecture & Design
Lead the design of end-to-end manufacturing processes in D365, including:
- Plan to Produce (MPS/MRP)
- Production Control (discrete and/or process manufacturing)
- Shop floor execution
- Inventory and warehouse integration
- Define scalable solutions for multi-site, multi-entity manufacturing operations
- Translate business requirements into solution designs, functional specifications, and architecture artifacts
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and long-term ERP strategy
- ERP + MES Integration
- Partner with technical architects to define integration between D365 and MES systems (e.g., shop floor systems, work instructions, data collection)
- Define system-of-record boundaries (ERP vs MES vs LIMS)
- Support design of: Production order integration, Inventory synchronization, Quality and traceability flows
Key Responsibilities
Drive process standardization across acquired entities transitioning from legacy ERPs (e.g., AX, Business Central, QAD, WinBiz, etc.). Identify opportunities to reduce customization and promote out-of-the-box D365 capabilities. Contribute to the 5-year ERP + MES transformation roadmap.
Implementation Leadership
- Act as the functional lead during D365 implementations
- Guide configuration decisions
- Support design workshops and fit/gap analysis
- Oversee functional testing and validation
- Partner with system integrators and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with: Operations / Manufacturing leadership, Supply chain, quality, and finance teams, Technical architects, developers, and integration teams
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the business on manufacturing system capabilities and best practices
