Manufacturing Shift Lead - Graveyard shift
Full-time position with a shift schedule of Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Training will be conducted on the day shift (also Tuesday through Friday) for 4-5 weeks.

About the role
The Manufacturing Shift Lead works side-by-side with their assigned manufacturing team to coordinate the production of the highest quality wood pellet in the safest and most cost-effective manner possible.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Coach, Leader, and Manager of the production crew.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees on the shift, maintaining an organized and safe operating environment and driving the Lignetics Safety System at the crew level.
- Set and uphold standards for housekeeping, quality, and productivity on the shift.
- Monitor shift performance and coordinate improvement initiatives.
- Administer the personal development program for the team.
- Operate the green in-feed system, dryer system, dry hammer mill system, kiln dried system, pellet mills, and all associated equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and downtime records, including operator logs.
- Monitor quality test results and correct the root cause of any incidents outside specified ranges.
- Serve as qualified relief in all positions to cover team absences (e.g., vacation, sickness).
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
- Direct wood pellet manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing process troubleshooting; demonstrated delegation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to coach, train, and mentor a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Great communication skills and willingness to flex leadership style as needed.
- Ability to motivate a team and hold them to a standard.
Physical Demands
- Walk and stand 80% of the time, traversing between buildings with ease.
- Frequently change positions: stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Visually observe and inspect equipment and surroundings.
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
Working Conditions
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, both indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
Pay
$25 - $28 per hour.
