Manufacturing Service Tech 2 - Night Shift

Night Shift position supporting the production and packaging of BacT/ALERT bottles in a cGMP-compliant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-speed, highly automated manufacturing and packaging equipment using HMI/SCADA interfaces.
  • Set up, inspect, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and clean production equipment.
  • Execute production batches and complete all associated documentation accurately and on time.
  • Conduct AQL inspections, rework, and material reconciliation for each batch.
  • Follow approved Manufacturing Directions and SOPs while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
  • Assist in reviewing and revising Manufacturing Directions and SOPs.
  • Support manufacturing deviation analysis, CAPA actions, and address process equipment quality concerns.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and cGMP-compliant state.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and document data manually or via software applications.
  • Perform self-audits of rooms and processes.
  • Train and certify teammates on production processes and procedures.
  • Generate, interpret, and act on reports, charts, and KPIs to identify and resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to execute validation protocols for equipment and procedures, including revalidation.
  • Use SAP and other computer applications to perform job functions.
  • Communicate daily with Materials Management, Production Operations, and Quality Control to meet production goals.
  • Escalate manufacturing or quality issues to senior staff or management as needed.
  • Perform all tasks accurately and efficiently to meet customer expectations and maintain business continuity.
  • Comply with all company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a regulated production/operations environment, OR equivalent military experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating high-speed, highly automated production equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in following OSHA regulations (LOTO, electrical safety, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA and/or GMP regulations preferred.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Certification in a BioWorks Program or equivalent preferred.
  • BioWorks, LEAN, or other Continuous Improvement Certificate preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar structures.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly for most of the day.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Ability to push/pull objects up to 150 lbs.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and overnight.
  • May be exposed to static de-ionizing bars (individuals with pacemakers must remain 21 inches away).
  • May be exposed to chemical hazards, including handling chemicals, antibiotics, and/or hazardous materials.
  • May be exposed to strong odors during media production or other operations.
  • Job duties performed while wearing PPE and cGMP attire (e.g., hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, PAPR, face mask, lab coat).
  • Ability to work extended and/or overtime hours as required to support production operations.
  • Work involves mechanical hazards, electricity hazards, and tripping/falling hazards.

Pay

The pay range for this role in North Carolina is $21.50/hr to $28.40/hr. This role is eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program.
