About the role
As a Manufacturing Technician II, you will help keep manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with cGMP, environmental health and safety, and other applicable regulations. You will support the movement of Flexbumin through inspection and packaging stages, help coordinate daily production flow, and may serve as line lead to ensure shift goals are met. You will also document activities accurately and contribute to Takeda’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing operations and maintain a safe, quality-focused work environment.
- Operate production equipment, including DAP lines, forklifts, and hoists.
- Move pallets and supplies within the value stream and production area.
- Lead Manufacturing Technician I team members in daily tasks when assigned.
- Train new employees and contractors on procedures and expectations.
- Complete required documentation and electronic system tasks in line with GDP/GMP requirements.
- Perform routine cleaning of the production area to maintain GMP standards.
- Communicate safety, quality, compliance, and equipment issues promptly to the manufacturing lead operator and supervisor.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Support additional tasks as needed to help the team succeed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience, or an associate degree or higher with 1+ year of related experience.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with understanding of cGMP requirements.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and follow detailed instructions in English.
- A proactive, reliable approach with strong time management skills.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to meeting shift and production deadlines.
- A consistent focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Must be able to carry up to 30lbs, lift up to 30lbs, push/pull up to 30lbs (with assistance of material handling equipment).
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for an extended period over a 12-hour shift between rooms and across the site.
- May require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and/or squatting motions to perform certain tasks.
- Repetitive motions with hands, wrists, turning head, bending at knees and waist.
- Must be able to walk within and between quality rooms and packaging rooms, as well as throughout the entire plant.
- May be required to work in controlled environments requiring special safety gear or gowning; will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body.
- May be required to work in confined spaces/areas.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Some Clean Room and/or cool/hot storage conditions (Applies to Filling Department only).
- May be exposed to and must not be allergic to cephalosporin (Applies only to product touch roles).
- May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
- Must be able to work on multiple shifts, including weekends, to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
- Must be able to work non-traditional work hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift (5:00am – 5:30pm or 5:00pm – 5:30am), in a 2-2-3 rotation.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- May require immunization before performing work within the manufacturing area.
- Requires flexibility to work during off shift hours and/or conduct activities in support of different shifts as needed.
