Manufacturing Service Tech 2 - 2nd Shift
bioMérieux is seeking a Manufacturing Service Technician to operate and maintain high-speed production equipment in a cGMP-compliant environment. This role supports the manufacture and packaging of BacT/ALERT bottles, ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.
About the role
The Manufacturing Technician performs or assists with equipment setup, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning for BacT/ALERT Manufacturing and Packaging processes. This individual completes production batches, associated documentation, AQL inspections, reworks, and material reconciliation while maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-speed, highly automated manufacturing equipment using HMI/SCADA interfaces.
- Execute production activities per approved Manufacturing Directions and SOPs, ensuring compliance with all job-related procedures.
- Complete batch paperwork accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
- Perform and document all processes and procedures while adhering to company and regulatory agency regulations.
- Assist with the review and revision of Manufacturing Directions and SOPs for product manufacture and packaging.
- Support manufacturing deviation analysis, CAPA actions, and address process equipment-related quality concerns.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and cGMP-compliant manner.
- Operate cleaning equipment and record data manually or through designated software applications.
- Conduct self-audits of rooms and processes.
- Train and certify teammates on production processes and procedures.
- Generate reports, charts, and KPIs; interpret data to identify problems and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to execute validation protocols for manufacturing/packaging equipment and procedures, including revalidation as required.
- Perform SAP transactions and other computer applications.
- Communicate daily with Materials Management, Production Operations, and Quality Control to ensure timely and efficient production.
- Escalate manufacturing or quality issues to senior staff or management as needed to maintain business continuity.
- Execute tasks accurately and efficiently to meet customer expectations and production targets.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a regulated production/operations environment, or equivalent military experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating high-speed, highly automated production equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with OSHA regulations (e.g., LOTO, electrical safety) preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA and/or GMP regulations preferred.
- Mechanical background preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Certification in a BioWorks Program or equivalent preferred.
- LEAN or other Continuous Improvement Certificate preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar structures.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly for most of the day.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Ability to push/pull objects up to 150 lbs.
- Work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and potential overnight shifts.
- Work extended and/or overtime hours as required to support production operations.
- Exposure to static de-ionizing bars (individuals with pacemakers must remain 21 inches away).
- Exposure to chemical hazards, including handling chemicals, antibiotics, and/or hazardous materials.
- Exposure to strong odors incurred during media production or other operations.
- Perform duties while wearing various types of PPE and cGMP attire, including but not limited to: hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, PAPR, face mask, and lab coat.
- Work with equipment and processes involving mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, and tripping/falling hazards.
Pay
The pay range for this role in North Carolina is $21.50/hr to $28.40/hr. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer. This role is eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program.
