About the role
Design, integrate, and support industrial robotics systems for automated production lines and smart factories. You will work across robot programming, PLC/IO integration planning, simulation/cycle time analysis, documentation, and structured troubleshooting, collaborating remotely with OEMs, integrators, and manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and define robotics solutions for manufacturing processes
- Design robotic workcells and line automation concepts; participate in cell design reviews
- Develop, program, and debug industrial robots (pick-and-place, palletizing, welding support, inspection)
- Plan and coordinate PLC/controls integration, IO mapping, sensors, conveyors, and safety devices
- Configure/validate machine vision and inspection workflows where applicable
- Perform offline simulation and cycle time optimization; support commissioning plans and FAT/SAT
- Create/maintain documentation: IO maps, risk assessments, SOPs, as-built packages, handover materials
- Provide remote troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; follow change control and QA processes
Requirements
- Hands-on experience delivering industrial automation or manufacturing robotics projects
- Strong fundamentals in frames, tooling, motion types, IO, interlocks, and structured debugging
- Working knowledge of PLC integration, industrial networks, and wiring conventions
- Understanding of manufacturing metrics (takt time, uptime/OEE, quality gates)
- Safety mindset: risk assessment, interlocks, E-stops, guarding, safety PLC concepts
- Clear communication skills for distributed/remote collaboration
Schedule
This is a full-time, remote role. Some projects may require scheduled on-site commissioning windows depending on client needs.
Pay
Competitive base hourly rate: $30–$50 per hour (USD), depending on experience and role fit.
