Core Responsibilities
- Optimizing spectrometers for measuring specific alloys.
- Determining appropriate alloy standards / reference materials required for measurement of produced alloys.
- Verifying chemistries of produced alloys (including small alloys containing silicon (Si), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), and titanium (Ti)).
- Verifying chemistries of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Determining chemistries of miscellaneous/test material sent by other companies.
- Maintaining and verifying lab equipment functionality.
- Basic lab housekeeping.
Where Required
- Visually inspecting aluminum alloy ingot and sow surface condition/quality.
- Verifying printed label weights for ingot bundles and sows, ensuring accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned by manager or upper management.
Qualifications

- Required: High School Diploma, Experience working within a manufacturing operation, Professional communication skills working with other departments and employees.
- PREFERRED: Three + years of on-the-job experience, Working knowledge of metal chemistry, scrap handling and melt practices, BA in Engineering, Material Science, or another related field.
