Manufacturing Quality Technician

Core Responsibilities

• Optimizing spectrometers for measuring specific alloys.
• Determining appropriate alloy standards / reference materials required for measurement of produced alloys.
• Verifying chemistries of produced alloys (including small alloys containing silicon (Si), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), and titanium (Ti)).
• Verifying chemistries of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Determining chemistries of miscellaneous/test material sent by other companies.
• Maintaining and verifying lab equipment functionality.
• Basic lab housekeeping.

Where Required

• Visually inspecting aluminum alloy ingot and sow surface condition/quality.
• Verifying printed label weights for ingot bundles and sows, ensuring accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned by manager or upper management.

Qualifications

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Required: High School Diploma, Experience working within a manufacturing operation, Professional communication skills working with other departments and employees.
• PREFERRED: Three + years of on-the-job experience, Working knowledge of metal chemistry, scrap handling and melt practices, BA in Engineering, Material Science, or another related field.
