Manufacturing Quality Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Complete/review paperwork to verify information and test metal parts.
• Accurately complete required paperwork and follow through as required.
• Promote safety and maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform other tasks as designated by position and as directed by the Quality Manager.
• Care for and treat customer inventory safely and responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
• Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in Quality (Preferred, not required).
• Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, inspection and related subjects.
• Prepared and perform testing of parts using selected testing equipment such as RC Hardness Testers, Microhardness Tester, and Microscopes.
• Requires computer experience and good understanding of basic math.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

• Standing for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Lift up to 35 lbs.
• Exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
• Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
