About the role

The Manufacturing Quality Inspector / Metrology Coordinator position at Teledyne Technologies Incorporated ensures that products and materials meet specified requirements, customer expectations, and regulatory standards. This role supports the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) through various inspection activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure conformity with engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.

  • Evaluate supplier documentation and initiate nonconformance reports when product or process requirements are not met.

  • Maintain calibration and metrology program administration, including scheduling and coordinating calibrations, reviewing calibration certificates, and managing calibration records.

  • Conduct internal audits, participate in supplier quality investigations, and assist with corrective actions.

  • Document inspection results, prepare audit reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Technical Sciences, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, electronics, instrumentation, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.

  • Proficiency in dimensional inspection methods and precision measuring equipment.

  • Experience with calibration principles, measurement traceability, and metrology practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

  • Internal auditor experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Technical Sciences, or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Medical device, aerospace, electronics, instrumentation, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, nonconformance control, CAPA, risk-based thinking, and document control principles. Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Understanding of inspection and measurement ability, metrology knowledge, auditing ability, computer skills, and preferred certifications.
