Manufacturing Production Supervisor - Night Shift

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hourly production employees.
  • Build strong, interactive teams, foster employee engagement, mentor through listening, coaching and performance reviews, train and onboard, and reduce employee turnover to achieve plant objectives.
  • Manage daily production and schedule requirements for assigned departments and ensure a consistent flow of work through the department.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and/or habits of area employees, through identification and correction of any safety concerns/issues, safety training, conducting safety audits of the area, and conducting accident investigations for all accidents in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure assigned department achieves quality goals to meet NVR's Brand Promise.
  • Review quality standards and processes regularly and make recommendations on improvements.
  • Support plant leadership with recommendations of improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, quality standards, efficiencies, and safety/working conditions.
  • Partner with plant Maintenance department to ensure production areas are functioning at a high level and minimize downtime.
  • Work with plant support operations, such as Materials, Scheduling and Logistics, to ensure a balanced schedule and consistent flow of material into assigned production area.
  • Determine appropriate staffing needs of the department, manage hourly attendance policy, and ensure accuracy of timekeeping and attendance system.
  • Make recommendations and support plant management in hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions.
  • Resolve employee issues through problem resolution, and conduct employee investigations, as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or considerable manufacturing experience (minimum five years)
    • Two (2) plus years of leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving results and developing subordinates
    • Excellent problem-analysis and critical thinking abilities
    • Experience working within teams and a demonstrated commitment to Customer Service
    • Outstanding reliability, with strong planning and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting, and meeting deadlines
    • Outstanding communication, collaboration and conflict management
    • Ability to drive improvements within the organization and coach/develop others to achieve goals
    • Ability to travel to other NVR plants and locations, as needed
