About the role

As a Fiber Attach (FA) Operator, you will prepare optical cable for the attachment process, attach cable assemblies to optical connectors, and perform required testing and inspections to ensure product quality and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a quality-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a clean manufacturing environment while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Heat strip, cleave, and inspect fiber
  • Attach optical cable to connectors
  • Perform measurements, alignment, and testing of optical cable
  • Understand and follow work instructions, blueprints, and PICS specifications
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tooling used in the assembly process
  • Use a microscope for extended periods
  • Maintain workflow in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate a quality mindset throughout all processes
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers (written and verbal)
  • Adapt to new, tedious processes and suggest improvements for tooling and processes
  • Pay close attention to detail

Requirements

  • One year of production/manufacturing experience
  • Willingness to adhere to department safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to work in an environment with noise (required to wear protective gear)
  • Exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals (required to wear safety glasses and other protective gear)
  • Steady hands and good hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a clean environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes without sensory deprivation or limb paralysis

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Pay

Starting pay is $20.25 per hour, with the opportunity to earn an additional $0.50 per hour quality bonus for weeks with no quality rejects.

Schedule

First shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
