Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Manufacturing Operator B to join our production team at our state-of-the-art facility in Morrow, GA. In this role, the Operator B position you will perform critical finishing and quality control tasks to ensure our premium bathroom fixtures meet TOTO’s high standards for craftsmanship and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply glaze evenly around seat mount holes on ceramic products.
- Inspect and remove debris from foot mount holes to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Wipe kerosene on toilet tanks and bowls to prepare surfaces for inspection and finishing.
- Engrave dryer door numbers on the underside of rims before products leave the workstation.
- Conduct visual inspections of water outlet areas to detect cracks or defects.
- Perform thorough finished product service checks for surface imperfections, including chips, cracks, or blemishes.
- Cover visual inspections of finished products to identify defects or damage and ensure accuracy of serial numbers and overall compliance with quality and safety specifications.
- Clean and inspect the sides of rims and tanks, identifying and correcting any deformations.
- Use scrapers to remove excess patching material from repaired areas.
- Smooth rough edges using sponges to achieve a uniform, high-quality finish.
- Transport lids using carts to the freight elevator for warehousing or shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Follow all work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
Qualification and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and quality in repetitive tasks.
- Basic Skills: Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations (e.g., measurements, counts).
- Technical Literacy: Must be able to read serial numbers on products and interpret information displayed on computer monitors.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with hand tools and basic machinery; ability to follow mechanical processes.
- Communication: Capable of giving, receiving, and understanding necessary work-related information with limited supervision.
- Initiative: Demonstrates reliability and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Physical Demands
- Must have sufficient visual acuity (with or without reasonable accommodation, such as corrective lenses) to perform detailed inspections and distinguish product details.
Work Environment
- Indoor manufacturing facility with variable temperatures: mild heating in winter; no air conditioning in summer (moderate to warm conditions).
- Moderate noise levels typical of industrial settings.
- Occasional exposure to fumes from gas-powered forklifts and minor chemical odors.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided, including: Safety glasses, Hearing protection (ear plugs), Protective gloves, Face masks, Safety shoes, Protective sleeves.
- Low risk of minor injuries; first aid is readily available.
