Schedule
- 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Occasional weekends
- 40-hour work week, including occasional weekday and weekend overtime
Pay
$25.00 hourly (depending upon experience)
Responsibilities
- Run all required equipment in a safe and efficient manner:
- Pumps, agitators, shakers
- Scales
- Transporters and lift trucks
- Viscosity measurements
- Daily scale calibrations
- Maintain housekeeping and participate in area cleanup
- Perform duties including but not limited to:
- Washing equipment (tanks, pumps, piping, and loading equipment)
- Loading (charging) various size tanks from 5 to 250-gallon capacity
- Loading, charging, moving, and lifting gallon stock, drums, and totes
- Following established process instructions and documentation (monitoring equipment)
- Filtration of product (loading/charging FSI filter and traps)
- Labeling of containers following established process, customer, and DOT requirements
- Auditing
- Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 50 lbs.
- Stand for 8 hours per day
- Repetitively climb ladders/stairs, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulders, and turn wrench/valve handles
- Perform selective maintenance tasks and equipment switch-outs to keep the process running
- Operate computer-controlled equipment
- Follow all site and area guidelines pertaining to plant functions and assigned tasks (e.g., fire watch, breaks, lunch, availability for work)
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to job functions
- Assist in the training of other employees
- Work comfortably with hazardous materials using proper PPE (gloves, masks, glasses, safety shoes, protective suits, etc.)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
- Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Capability to learn quickly and work in a self-directed team environment
- At least 1 year of forklift driving experience
Qualifications
- 3 years of manufacturing experience (paint, coatings, or chemicals manufacturing experience highly preferred)
- Completion of all required on-site customer training
- Read and sign-off on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Occasional training required due to process or equipment changes
- Preferred: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Preferred: Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
