Responsibilities
- Machinist required to repair, maintain, install and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pumps, agitators, fans, centrifuges, etc.).
- Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment.
- Execute preventive maintenance program.
- Calibrate, align and make adjustments to production equipment.
Qualifications
- Include HS diploma
- Field machinist or millwright training and demonstrated experience
- Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Able to work from heights from a ladder or man lift
- Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/machine drawings
- To place safety and environment as top priority in all work
- Demonstrate knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
- Show good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed.
- Show good team player – flexible, willing to work in other areas and with other trades as needed.
