How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Manufacturing/Materials Expeditor, you will manage the administrative functions for aftermarket component sourcing, planning and buying. This will include material procurement, direct-ship components to support aftermarket pass-through and manufacturing orders. The incumbent is responsible for issuing work orders/purchase orders and expediting the associated materials as needed to meet the production schedule for sales order ship dates. What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: Process OrdersReceive, review, and approve purchase ordersProcess standard orders through the system (QTC to SAP)Schedule and align shipping dates to minimize deliveries and optimize on-time shippingIssue work orders/purchase orders to satisfy sales order demandsReconcile internal order holds and help resolve contract issuesPrioritize orders based on customer need and plant capacityCustomer ServiceCommunicate shipping and delivery instructions with plant and field salesHandle customer service calls regarding ordersProvide shipment notifications to customers and representativesCommunicate delays to respective customersResolved expediting issues with suppliers, plants, and warehousesProcess supplemental shipments due to wrong or missing itemsFollow up on all orders to ensure customer satisfaction CollaborationIdentify areas impacting on time shipping/works collaboratively to rectifySupport Rep and Inside Sales team to satisfy QMS action itemsWork with Shipping, Planning, and other departments in plant environment What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience 3-5 years experience Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Manufacturing and/or logistics experience preferredStrong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong skills in SAP or other ERP systemAttention to detailAbility to understand the relationship between customer needs and order fulfillment processProactive problem solving skills and initiativeUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and fulfilling orders through multiple distribution channels preferredAbility to quickly and accurately process high volumes of transactionsAbility to effectively manage rapidly changing priorities without compromising quality or thoroughnessStrong sense of accountability and ownership Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree preferred Travel & Working Environment Works between an office and plant environment with exposure to varying degrees of heat and noiseMonday – Friday; Hybrid work schedule available after satisfactory completion of probationary periodSitting, standing, and walkingKeyboarding/typingAbility to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copyAbility to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment How We Live Our Culture Our culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
