Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations including Supervisory, Lead and Employee level development
- Lead the team during RCCA
- Strong collaborative and team player skills, working cross functionally with manufacturing engineering, R&D, purchasing and other departments as necessary
- Lead and develop Supervisory and Lead staff
- Performance management
- Cost and headcount management
- Manage department/team timecard and vacation approval
- Develop, implement and train on process improvements for yearly cost savings goal
- Develop and train on process improvements for yearly cost savings goal
- Manage training and personal staffing updates and changes
- Work with the Training Manager and Safety Coordinator to ensure every employee is following the OSHA guidelines for safety and training
- Maintain, track and order Consumable (non-raw material material) supplies while providing weekly report outs on the status of all materials
- Work with supply chain to provide, maintain and track the weekly, monthly, and quarterly production schedules for formulations, filling, molding, demolding, inspection, high speed mounting, ILM, IMM for ioLs, lenses, rod blanks, Lense blanks, etc.
- Evaluate and enhance existing SOPs to include new processes, development and tracking
- Keep track of key Operation metrics including but not limited to OTD, yields, waste, reprocessing, scrap
- Monitor and adjust for OCOS metrics (labor, absorption, overhead, etc.); including department head count
- Support monthly and year end inventory counts and reporting
- Put together 1-2 year training and developmental plans to support production needs and minus one support
- Ensure plant shipments are made on time and to the customer order specifications
- Participate in the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning) meetings weekly while supporting a high-level overview for a 12-18 month calendar rolling basis
- Collaborate with production teams to assess planning and purchasing performance and identify areas for continuous improvement
- Cost improvement projects including but not limited to improving yield

- Lean Manufacturing – waste elimination, takt time, value stream mapping, standard work, flow optimization
- Six Sigma / Statistical Process Control – ability to use data to reduce variation, improve quality
- Total productive maintenance (TPM) – builds systems that maximize equipment uptime, OEE, and reliability
- Theory of Constraints (TOC) – Identifies bottlenecks and optimizes throughput across the entire value stream
- World Class Manufacturing Pillars (WCM) – Safety, Cost, Improvement, Maintenance, Control, Logistics, People, Environment
Qualification
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferrable in an engineering or chemical field)
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical device manufacturing experience
