About the role
The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring all machinery functions properly through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations during maintenance tasks.
- Perform routine inspections, lubrications, and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Inspect machine parts using various measurement instruments and maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies.
- Train and develop operators and other maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate with manufacturing to resume production after ensuring machinery is in a ready state.
- Work with different levels across departments to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify and implement improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
- Use equipment manuals, schematics, and vendor communication to solve problems and escalate issues as necessary.
Qualifications
- A lot of enthusiasm and passion for Suterra's mission.
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams and representing the engineering function.
- An associate degree in an industrial machinery-related field.
- One to three years of experience in an industrial plant setting.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Good time-management, computer, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360, desired.
- Willingness to work off shifts and a rotating 4x10 schedule.
