Manufacturing Maintenance Technician ~ 3pm-11:30pm ($25.56 - $28.33)

About the role

This position supports operations by providing leadership to the packaging areas. Qualified candidates must be able to perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required and must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, clean-up, sweeping, vacuuming, painting, lubrication (oiling, greasing, etc.)
• Power washing, lifting and hauling items up and down stairs, dump rework
• Operate a motorized forklift and a variety of other miscellaneous equipment
• Complete PM’s (preventative maintenance) on a daily and monthly timeframe
• Work with line operators/supervisors to keep lines running
• Complete work orders in a timely manner
• Keep lines running for better efficiency
• Clean the maintenance shop and parts cage area
• Work safely and follow all SOPs on lock-out of equipment
• Assist others on job tasks
• Identify needed mechanical improvements
• Make necessary mechanical repairs when possible
• Identify and work to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices
• Complete and ensure accuracy of downtime sheets/GMP log
• Be on call on weekends
• Be active and participate in efficiency and safety improvement teams
• Learn and follow written rules and procedures
• Produce accurate documentation
• Maintain acceptable attendance
• Fill in when needed in temporary/permanent vacancies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required and verified)
• Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer knowledge (data entry)
• General math comprehension
• Ability to operate and understand packaging equipment and processes
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Desire to advance in Maintenance Department
• Ability to operate forklift truck, scissor lift, and sky trac (training available)
• Basic mechanical skills
• Positive attitude throughout the plant
• Ability to weld carbon steel including equipment, piping, and structural steel
• Ability to thread pipe and work with copper tubing
• Willingness to work overtime and emergency call-ins

Skills

• Carpentry, Millwright, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, Mechanical Repair (valuable)
