Job Summary
A Maintenance Technician reports directly to maintenance supervision and works closely with other maintenance team members to ensure the reliability of the plant's equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Follow maintenance schedules and ensure that tasks are completed on time to minimize equipment downtime.
- Identify and report potential maintenance issues before they become problems.
- Diagnosis and repair of faulty equipment, machinery, or systems.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble machinery and systems to identify issues or required repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Install and setup of new equipment or machinery as part of company projects.
- Coordinate and test of newly installed equipment to ensure it operates correctly.
- Maintain and ensure that maintenance tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
- Safely use and care for a variety of tools and machinery.
- Ensure the maintenance work area is organized and complies with safety standards.
- Log and record maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
- Report maintenance issues and completed tasks to the supervision.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records for equipment and facilities.
- Follow company safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure safe working conditions.
- Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, environmental policies, and health regulations.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to develop technical knowledge and skills in various maintenance areas.
- Stay up to date with best practices and new technologies in the maintenance field.
- Willing to learn new techniques and troubleshooting methods.
- Shadow senior maintenance personnel to learn new techniques and troubleshooting methods.
- Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and in the proper uniform.
- Reviews shift reports and meets with out-bound team to understand the current state of operations and mechanical issues.
- Receives work tasks via CMMS or verbal and written instruction from supervision.
- Conducts daily facility checks with proficiency i.e. compressor check, boiler checks, Ammonia checks, sifter screen checks, air drier checks….
- Reports issues as they arise to supervision in a timely manner.
- Checks parts out of the inventory system correctly and accurately.
- Uploads work orders into CMMS.
- Meets with in bound team at the end shift to communicate the current state of operations and mechanical issues.
- Sends report via email at the end of the shift outlining the days performance and issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong industrial electrical experience required.
- Minimum of High School Diploma and 2+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience repairing and troubleshooting pneumatics, hydraulics, Conveyers, 3 p-phase motors, variable speed drivers and controls.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment.
- Must have good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred but NOT required.
