Job Summary

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-performing maintenance team with focus on safety, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Design/implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to boost asset uptime and cut unplanned downtime.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, condition-based maintenance using CMMS and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) for chronic issues.
  • Ensure equipment/systems meet food safety, regulatory, performance standards; monitor OSHA/EPA/FDA/USDA compliance.
  • Develop department budgets; implement/control approved budgets and resource use.
  • Perform LO/TO if required.
  • Provide engineering leadership for utilities/infrastructure (HVAC, boilers, compressed air, water treatment).
  • Lead capital project design, specification, implementation aligned with safety/reliability goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally for process efficiency, energy use, maintainability improvements.
  • Manage engineering documentation (P&IDs, drawings, schematics); ensure code/environmental compliance.
  • Align goals with production/quality/safety/training using Lean, TPM, Six Sigma for OEE gains.
  • Champion autonomous maintenance/operator care programs.
  • Oversee maintenance planning/scheduling, spare parts, vendors, budgets for minimal disruption.
  • Ensure CMMS data integrity, procedures, KPIs, audit readiness.
  • Develop technical training for maintenance/operations; promote continuous improvement/problem-solving.

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering leadership in manufacturing.
  • Food or CPG experience preferred.
  • Proven RCM/TPM implementation; CMMS/EAM proficiency; capital/project management success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, automation systems, plant utilities/infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in CMMS/EAM, reliability analytics, RCA/FMEA, Lean/TPM/Six Sigma.
  • Functional Skills: Maintenance planning, budgeting, vendor management, capital project execution.
  • Cross-functional collaboration for OEE/process improvements.
  • Behavioral Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills. Ability to foster safety culture, staff development, proactive problem-solving.
