About the role
Provides advanced technical expertise in diagnosing complex failures, improving equipment reliability, and supporting long-term maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose complex and chronic equipment failures.
- Interface with PLCs, automation, and control systems (non-programming).
- Conduct root cause failure analyses and corrective actions.
- Improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Mentor and develop Maintenance I and II technicians.
- Drive reductions in unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering on equipment improvements.
- Promote maintenance best practices and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or related experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of advanced diagnostics for mechanical, electrical, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Skill in performing root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to interface with PLCs, controls, and automation systems for diagnostic purposes.
- Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance and equipment life-cycle principles.
- Ability to mentor and develop less experienced maintenance technicians.
- Ability to plan and execute complex maintenance and repair activities.
- Ability to exercise independent technical judgment when resolving high-impact equipment issues.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Self-paced, 8-hour shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises, and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far, and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.
- Heavy lifting up to 85 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 280 lbs.
