Manufacturing Laborer

About the role

Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble.
• Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements.
• Makes minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Monitors quality of products and raw materials.
• May read simple blueprints.
• Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions.

Requirements

• Typically has 3-5 years of experience.
• Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Physical ability to operate machinery and tools.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand simple blueprints.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem-solving skills.

Schedule

4-10 hour days. Night shift hours. 2pm-12am or 330pm-130am
