Manufacturing Glazing Project Manager

About the role

A Project Manager engages and communicates with, challenges, and facilitates the success of every department at Flynn (Safety, Field, Design, QC, Shipping, Procurement, Business Development, Estimating, Engineering). The role involves managing client expectations, developing Project Coordinators, and ensuring project success through proactive guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support and enforce Flynn’s Safety Policy and Culture; conduct site Safety/Quality inspections at least every two months and submit reports.
• Review and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors.
• Review and understand drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender correspondence.
• Manage SIs, CCNs, Change Orders, Construction Directives, and RFIs.
• Apply for bonding and ensure proper insurances are in place.
• Create and manage a detailed Schedule of Values (SOV) for invoicing.
• Evaluate monthly progress, manage invoicing, forecast sales, apply for substantial performance, release holdbacks, and assist in collecting progress billings.
• Manage and approve PO invoices, subcontractor invoices, and holdbacks.
• Review, analyze, forecast, and report on costs using cost coding and financial data.
• Ensure Handovers, Kickoff, and Autopsy meetings are held and documented.
• Ensure accurate and detailed engineered shop drawings are prepared and maintained.
• Facilitate a project-specific Quality Control program.
• Ensure closeout documents and correctly worded warranties are issued to clients.
• Protect Flynn by documenting all key discussions and decisions in writing.
• Report issues or concerns to the Project Director and affected departments.
• Assess and understand client needs and proactively guide projects to success.
• Task and develop assigned Project Coordinators, providing growth opportunities.
• Participate in a positive environment of communication and support.
• Establish relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers.
• Identify potential conflicts and negotiate solutions beneficial to Flynn.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Project Management (glazing industry required).
• Engineering degree or technical diploma in Construction, Building, Civil, or Architecture (an advantage).
• Stable career history with successfully completed projects.
• Exceptional leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of curtain wall/glazing systems.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multi-task, delegate, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project.
