Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides shop floor support of manufacturing processes. They work directly with the shop floor personnel to ensure safe part production adhering to quality standards.

Shift Hours and Locations
- 1st Shift: 6AM – 4PM
- 2nd Shift: 12PM – 10PM
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to machine shop floor operators
- Support supervisors and lead men with technical support to safety, quality and production challenges in the machine shop
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to analyze, improve and standardize manufacturing processes, reducing waste, variation, and cost while improving safety, quality and throughput
- Conduct process audits to ensure the team is maintaining the proven and trained processes
- Support manufacturing with a disciplined approach to problem solving (including fishbone diagrams, job safety analysis, root cause analysis,) in Quality and Safety Incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective action
- Work closely with Programmers, Manufacturing Engineering and PE department to ensure successful project launches
- Commission, qualify and support new equipment and support/train employee owners on best practices utilizing new technology
- Create/update/maintain routings, work instructions and blueprints (and other standard process documents) to meet customer specifications and quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner
- Leverage and implement Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., data analytics, connected equipment, automation and digital manufacturing tools) to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and process visibility
- Analyze and design fixtures and tools to aid in shop floor processes
- Work across all three plants/shifts to maintain support for projects/production as needed
- Influence and maintain relationships with customers and vendors
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Engineering/Technology or 5+ years of equivalent related experience
- Proficiency in technical application of manufacturing practices and demonstrated knowledge
- Team player, organized, self-motivated, and capable of independent work
- Effective collaborator with strong communication
- Working knowledge of Machining and CNC Programming
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software
- Geometrical Tolerance specification/application proficiency
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of applied experience in an Engineering/Technology position in manufacturing
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
- Previous experience in the metals industry
- History of success in improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in quality tools and relevant safety regulations
Additional Information
- Scot Forge requires all employees to work 100% onsite
- Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test
- Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs
- Position requires some time spent working in office environment and majority of time working in production areas while forklifts, overhead cranes and related equipment are in use
- While in the area of production, appropriate PPE is mandatory

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
