Responsibilities

  • Direct high-level engineering analysis and design of new and modified components and subsystems in accordance with engineering standards and project scope to ensure designs meet customer requirements, corporate objectives, are safe, and can be manufactured.
  • Lead direct reports and manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with other engineering business support disciplines internally and suppliers externally.
  • Research, study, and propose use of new technologies for product development.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards.
  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements, statutory requirements, and corporate objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise leadership to a large technical staff to ensure program success.
  • Support BU and Corporate business objectives through the development of cost-effective, innovative products and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Outstanding leadership experience in leading engineering teams of manufacturing, fabrication, or weld engineers.
  • Experience working in an union environment.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing projects.

  • Supervisory/Managerial: General instructing, scheduling, and reviewing the work of others performing the same or directly related work, acts as “lead worker”.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $92,600.00 - $154,400.00. Individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.

Schedule

Routine shift hours. Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation. High volume and variable work demands and deadlines impose strain on routine basis or considerable stress intermittently.
