Manufacturing Engineering Manager II
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team supporting our growing Data Center Solutions product category, focused on liquid cooling distribution systems. You will lead manufacturing engineering for a defined product area, with responsibility for scaling production, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost within a primarily manual assembly environment with opportunities to expand automation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians, establishing priorities, developing talent, and building technical capability across the team.
- Guide and support the team in the execution of manufacturing engineering projects, setting priorities and ensuring work is aligned to production goals including throughput, yield, and delivery.
- Own the planning, prioritization, and execution of capital projects and equipment investments, ensuring alignment to business needs and long-term manufacturing strategy.
- Drive initiatives to advance manufacturing capability through automation, tooling, and production line improvements that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Partner with NPI and multi-functional teams to industrialize new products, ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and readiness for full-scale production.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using data and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., SPC, root cause analysis, Gage R&R, Cpk) to improve process capability and reduce defects.
- Monitor and drive performance of key manufacturing metrics including yield, throughput, cycle time, delivery, and safety.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead efforts to address complex issues, guide decisions, and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering field.
- At least 7 years of related engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in an engineering leadership role preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams across multiple functions to deliver sophisticated engineering projects from concept through production.
- Experience with automation and equipment integration, including a working understanding of control systems (e.g., PLC controls) and how systems interact across a manufacturing line.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., welding, forming, molding) and product/process development methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Lean).
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to influence across functions and drive alignment.

Pay
Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $105,000.00 - $195,000.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
Schedule
This position will work 5 days/week onsite in Anoka, MN.
