About the role

A well-established manufacturing company with decades of experience in electrical assemblies and wire processing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Technician to join its production team. The organization specializes in high-quality electrical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, wire processing, and box build solutions for OEM customers across the United States, operating in a quality-driven, ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment to maximize operational efficiency
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain maintenance schedules
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve manufacturing operations
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
• Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of manufacturing tools, equipment, and production processes
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
• High school diploma or GED required

Qualifications

• Experience working in ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality-controlled environments preferred
• Familiarity with maintenance tracking or scheduling software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred
• Experience in electrical wiring, cable assembly, or related manufacturing industries is a plus

Full-time, on-site position located in the Northern Illinois area.
