Manufacturing Engineer – Weld
About the role
This engineering position supports product production in the plant and reports to the Plant Engineering Manager. The manufacturing engineer works both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. Additionally, manufacturing engineers serve as specialists and subject-matter experts for technical planning throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Develops, improves, and monitors standards, processes, and performance to reduce costs and improve production operations.
- Analyzes production data to identify bottlenecks and drives safety, quality, throughput, and cost-savings initiatives.
- Provides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to site management.
- Supports installation and implementation of capital expenditures.
- Develops and maintains SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Provides lean manufacturing guidance to operations through coordination with the site Lean Manager.
- Investigates production issues using a systematic approach to root cause and corrective actions (8D problem-solving methodology).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience within a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing (a plus).
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel.
- Proficiency in welding and assembly processes.
- Ability to coordinate work activities and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $75,747 – $91,066 annually.
