About the Role
As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical products and systems, provide technical expertise to ensure seamless production processes, and drive adoption of new technologies to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop tooling and equipment designs from engineering hardware specifications, culminating in complete technical data packages that fully define the tooling/equipment and allow fabrication of detailed components and assembly of the end item.
- Perform design and documentation efforts in accordance with company standards using Pro-Engineer/SolidWorks.
- Provide engineering support to the production floor for issues that surface in day-to-day integration processes by analyzing and solving problems in a team environment, aligned with production rate requirements.
- Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
- Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
- Drive adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software) to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Create and analyze 3D-based model data environments to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
- Leverage understanding of materials and automated processes to define operations procedures and build sequences for operational excellence.
- Evaluate performance (including IoT devices) of equipment and tools to verify efficiency, investigate deficiencies, and initiate corrective actions.
- Use factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrate reporting/data analytics solutions for continuous improvement.
- Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
