Manufacturing Engineer - Precision Grinding/Bearings

Responsibilities

• Develops and improves processes, methods, tooling and production controls.
• Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigates their potential applications.
• Recommends incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
• Sets up new equipment, ensures its satisfactory operation and instructs others to use the new equipment properly.
• Designs, tools and/or machines of varying types (some of a very complex nature) for use in the manufacture of company products.

Qualifications

• BSME or a BS degree with a concentration of coursework in industrial technology or engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
• Special consideration for individuals with a background in bearing manufacturing or precision grinding.

Knowledge

• Mechanical principles
• Machining practices, especially pertaining to precision grinding
• The properties of metals
• The application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.

Skills

• Engineering and drafting skills
• Familiar with CNC machines and machine tools and has had exposure to high-volume automated production equipment.

Abilities

• Comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation
• Be attentive to detail
• Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
