HEPCO is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations, focusing on developing and improving work instructions, procedures, and assembly processes. This role involves converting existing instructions into a new system and applying LEAN assembly principles to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing work instructions, including planning documents, Assembly Work Instructions (AWIs), and Operational Standard Operating Procedures (OSOPs).
  • Convert existing manufacturing instructions and procedures into the current instruction system.
  • Develop procedures for assembly, disassembly, soldering, component removal and installation, coating, and material preparation.
  • Evaluate manufacturing methods based on cost, efficiency, product requirements, and operator safety and comfort.
  • Develop procedures for the fabrication and use of tools and equipment that affect product performance.
  • Apply LEAN assembly principles to improve manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Provide direct feedback regarding product design, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety requirements and audits.
  • Support a safe working environment and a standard of 100% quality.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or four years of equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree, technical certificate, or professional background in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Production, electronics, or manufacturing experience.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience creating detailed manufacturing work instructions.
  • Experience using a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience with CAD software or other visual-aid tools.
