About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer supports product development, process improvement, daily production, and key program project management. Responsibilities include analyzing technical data, creating shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other processes to produce high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and write detailed instructions for the manufacture of products.
- Analyze production data for trends indicating potential problems and develop solutions.
- Provide process control systems through instructions, standards, data collection, and feedback loops.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to improve factory performance.
- Create tooling and fixtures to support production needs.
Requirements
- Ability to read safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals in English.
- Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- ERP system knowledge.
- CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge (a plus).
- Strong spatial and creative thinking at an advanced level.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proven experience in performing time studies and setting routing standards.
- Ability to analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout for efficiency and safety.
- High level of creative problem-solving ability.
- Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Ability to reason and arrive at conclusions with minimal assistance, including basic statistical understanding.
- Advanced math skills, including statistical analysis and trigonometry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
- Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
- Working knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to lead and function in a team environment while communicating across organizational levels.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Certification (a plus).
- CNC programming (a plus).
- Understanding of standard machining tooling (e.g., drills, taps, inserts, reamers) (a plus).
Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering degree is preferred.
