Manufacturing Engineer (Knoxville, IA)
About the role
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of a primary process area within the Knoxville, Iowa facility. Primary objectives will be to deliver results in Safety, Service, Quality, Cost, and Engagement.
Responsibilities
- Tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.
- Develop and implement improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Drive cost and productivity improvements by leading Continuous Improvement projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, Lean & Six Sigma methodologies, tier reviews, and kaizens.
- Develop and implement cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans such as new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Continuous Improvement tools.
- Proactively communicate project direction and status to appropriate personnel.
- Engage and involve in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction/support of maintenance and division engineering activities.
- Guide new product introduction efforts and complete experimental runs.
- Represent 3M Knoxville during internal and external customer interactions and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
- Additional qualifications that could help include: Master's degree or higher from an accredited university, Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, Experience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion, Experience in supporting new product development and commercialization, Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation), Experience in lean manufacturing or Aerospace Industry, Self-starter/self-directed that leads with high energy and passion.

The expected compensation range for this position is $98,964 - $120,957, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
