Key Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware.
  • Define test, qualification, and flight preparation procedures for hardware.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build schedule.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) studies to strengthen design-build-test feedback loops.
  • Design material handling and packaging solutions to protect hardware during build and test.
  • Create manufacturing work instructions covering receiving, fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and refurbishment.
  • Manage cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve design.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
  • Perform engineering drawing review and provide final manufacturing approval.
  • Develop process control measures and evaluate performance through statistical analysis.
  • Interface with external suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering capacity, including internships.
  • Demonstrated experience defining manufacturing process flows and selecting production equipment for electromechanical hardware.
  • Proficiency with GD&T, tolerance analysis, precision fits, and structural assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (GD&T) and electrical drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings).
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience managing hardware configuration and maintaining pedigree throughout build and test.
  • Experience developing process control measures and evaluating performance via statistical analysis.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience in an electric motor or rotating electrical machine manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with avionics, wire harnesses, structures, spacecraft propulsion systems, mechanical systems, thermal protection systems, thermal management systems, or environmental instrumentation for aerospace.
  • Experience standing up new production lines or manufacturing cells, including equipment procurement and layout.
  • Experience developing spacecraft or other Aerospace, Defense, and High‑Performance (ADHP) hardware.
  • Ability to obtain a DBIDS or NASA badge.
