Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects from design through implementation, including equipment installation and process redesign. Define scope, manage timelines, and coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Design and document manufacturing processes, standards, and tooling. Drive improvements in safety, quality, design, and cost metrics by analyzing production data and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement specialized tools and machines for fabrication and assembly. Apply knowledge of PLC and programming to support automation and technological integration.
  • Manage equipment upgrades and replacements, including direct engagement with suppliers. Ensure that the equipment meets performance, safety, and ergonomic standards.
  • Drive interdepartmental collaboration to align engineering efforts with production, maintenance, product engineering, and quality objectives. Serve as a technical resource and liaison across teams.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers through informal learning sessions and project collaboration. Foster team development and knowledge sharing within the engineering group.
  • Lead practical problem-solving (PPS) efforts to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues. Implement sustainable corrective actions and communicate decisions effectively to production teams.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • As part of the Global Business Systems Program, this role will also:
    • Lead end-to-end Engineering-to-Manufacturing process blueprinting by defining current and future state process flows, business rules, handoffs, and role ownership.
    • Facilitate cross-functional workshops across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, and Operations, and translate approved designs into functional requirements and test scenarios.
    • Serve as the E2M subject matter expert for ERP, PLM, MES, ensuring system configurations and integrations align with business process intent.
    • Act as the business process lead for Engineering-to-Manufacturing related change initiatives, partnering with Change Management and Training teams to assess business impacts and adoption risks.
    • Define role-based training needs, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, and training materials.
    • Lead business-driven User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining scope, scenarios, and acceptance criteria, validating results, managing defect prioritization, and providing formal business signoff.
    • Support cutover, go-live, stabilization, and post-go-live adoption reinforcement to ensure sustained business outcomes.
    • Identify inefficiencies, risks, and breakdowns across engineering and manufacturing workflows. Establish and monitor KPIs.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate across various levels of the organization related to supply-chain, production, and manufacturing concepts.
  • Understanding of various manufacturing technologies and methods, preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, fostering collaborative working relationships among a diverse audience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), able to partner and communicate with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Strong organizational planning skills, coordinating internal and external resources, and juggling key demands.
  • Sound business sense and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed actions, solve complex problems, and promote learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI, or other similar systems, including strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • Master's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (preferred).

Environmental & Hazardous Conditions

  • Continuously working indoors/outdoors in an air-conditioned/non-air-conditioned office/manufacturing/site-based environment.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/radiation/vibration/grease/oils/lasers.
  • Occasional exposure to low/moderate/high noise levels, including machinery/vehicles/forklifts/office equipment/office traffic.
  • Occasional work around energized equipment with the risk of electrocution/scalding/burns.
  • Infrequent exposure to wet/humid/outdoor weather/extreme cold (non-weather)/extreme heat (non-weather) conditions.
  • Infrequent work with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects.

Pay

The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $96,514 - $127,886.88. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Schedule

8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
