Manufacturing Engineer II - Equipment

About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineering group provides manufacturing technology and robust solutions to commercialize new products and support continuous improvement in production. This role involves manufacturing processes with cross-departmental collaboration to resolve production floor problems and drive global business success.

The Manufacturing Engineer Equipment II specializes in designing, developing, evaluating, selecting, and ordering cost-effective equipment for manufacturing company products. This includes applying engineering techniques, adapting production lines, and improving quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions, including root cause analysis and cross-functional communication.
• Support production by creating and maintaining product and process documentation.
• Monitor process and equipment performance; identify and implement equipment-related improvements to optimize yield, efficiency, and throughput.
• Coordinate the design, development, installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Study equipment performance and reliability; provide technical support to repair and process engineering teams.
• Design fixtures, acquire off-the-shelf tooling, and implement new fixturing on the production line.
• Perform equipment qualifications, process validations, and test equipment processes.
• Author protocols, execute tests, and write reports with conclusions or recommendations based on results.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work as part of a project or as a total project.
• Develop specifications for products, processes, or equipment.
• Develop, characterize, and optimize processes using statistical techniques and engineering knowledge.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external resources for equipment-related process improvements.
• Participate in project planning and scheduling.
• Train assemblers, quality control, and technicians on processes, equipment, and documentation.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and compliance principles applicable to the Company.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or related field, with 1+ years of relevant engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device industry preferred).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations, Lean/Flow Manufacturing, and/or materials and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other computer applications.

Pay

Annual base salary: $82,000 to $108,000.
