About the Role

RTX’s Advanced Products and Solutions division is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) products in a factory production environment on second shift. This self-motivated individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations assembly and test to manufacture Multi-Spectral Targeting (MTS) system variants at the McKinney, TX Consolidated Manufacturing Center.

Standard workdays are Monday through Friday on second shift, with approximately one weekend day per month required for a rotation schedule. New hires will complete onboarding training on first shift (not to exceed 6 months) before transitioning to second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot systems failing test, identify failure causes, and disposition hardware for repair.
  • Investigate failure trends to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot circuit card assemblies (CCAs), sub-assemblies, and systems of EO/IR products.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting aids.
  • Work on producibility improvements, including reductions in cycle time, touch time, and general cost.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field (or 0 years with a Master’s degree in a related field).
  • Experience using standard electrical equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Strong technical aptitude demonstrated through academic performance or hands-on experience.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of common circuit components (Op-Amps, Multiplexers, H-bridge, ADC, DAC, etc.).
  • Experience reading memory maps, schematics, and datasheets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple tasks.
  • Experience resolving issues with dimensional tolerances or testing, troubleshooting, and documenting test results.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings.
  • Ability to perform complex analysis with minimal guidance.
  • Experience designing experiments for troubleshooting and investigations.
  • Experience in data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Existing security clearance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
