Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream
- Plan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusion
- Create training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability
- Provide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events
- Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving
- Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements
- Accurately assess ergonomic conditions within the manufacturing environment and provide practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk
- Exhibit persuasiveness to sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partners
- Stay well-informed on industry technology developments and explore their use in Andersen products
- Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes
- Ensure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans
Qualification and Skill Requirements
- BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
- 4+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude
- Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative, cross functional teams
- Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
- Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools
- Ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty
- Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships
- Experience with change management strategies
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
