About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer I+ supports designs through the design-development cycle and into production with emphasis on design producibility, manufacturing process development and support, and oversees the transition of product to production including follow on support.
Responsibilities
- Supports programs, products and engineering activities
- Generates bill of materials for assemblies, and work/build instructions
- Heavily engaged with technicians and working with hardware
- Designs, develops and implements basic fixtures, tools, and inspection gages to facilitate fabrication and assembly
- Supports material and resource planning including Epicor data for BOMs and Methods of Manufacture
- Supports and coordinates material flow
- Communicates with all levels of the organization to obtain required information, gain acceptance, and implement solutions
- Aids in prototype builds and evaluations of materials and processes
- Coincides with vendors and suppliers including supplier quality
- Monitors fabrication and production processes and controls
Requirements
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree
- Typically possesses 0-3 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Hands-on engineering experience in a fabrication and assembly shop environment is desired
- Able to read blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams, and work to verbal and written instructions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
