Manufacturing Engineer, Continuous Improvement
About the role
This in-person role supports and continuously improves assembly and test processes, tooling, and work holding to produce fully finished precision parts for complex fluid control devices used in medical, industrial, material handling, and a wide variety of other applications. The position operates in a high-mix environment utilizing a wide variety of custom assembly and test equipment built in-house.
This role requires a team-oriented individual with a broad range of technical skills and high attention to detail, working closely with product development engineers, quality professionals, outside suppliers, and operators to ensure products meet stringent internal and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design tools and work holding using Solid Edge 3D CAD modeling tools or equivalent.
- Utilize precision gaging/inspection equipment with an understanding of GD&T principles.
- Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Provide production cost estimates for product improvement programs.
- Create and modify production routers for multi-step assembly and test operations.
- Validate production processes and equipment in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot complex pneumatic circuits and devices.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with operators, technical and supervisory personnel, and outside contractors.
- Generate operator and maintenance instructions, including graphics to support production processes.
- Complete detailed written reports of work performed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to guide and train maintenance and shop personnel.
- Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
Schedule
First shift, Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
Full-time salaried position. Reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
