Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement
Job Summary
You will lead manufacturing engineering initiatives to improve workstation safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, labor efficiency, and gross margin within the Power Test / Loadbanks value stream. You will also identify, assess, and prioritize engineering-addressable hazards, implement engineering controls that eliminate or reduce workplace risks, redesign processes, tooling, and workstations to reduce labor content, minimize assembly variation, and enhance process consistency. Additionally, you will support and execute value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives, validate operational, ergonomic, and financial benefits of implemented improvements, drive measurable performance gains through structured evaluation, implementation, and validation of engineering solutions, and collaborate with suppliers and Applied partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering required
- Background in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or industrial engineering
- Experience improving workstation safety, ergonomics, and hazard mitigation
- Skilled in process redesign, tooling development, and workstation optimization
- Experience identifying labor inefficiencies and reducing assembly variation through engineering solutions
- Experience supporting value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives
- Strong analytical skills for validating operational and financial impacts
- Effective communication with collaborative, cross-functional problem-solving abilities
