About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer supports the design and development cycle, transitioning into production with a focus on producibility. The engineer will provide process development and production support and will oversee the transition from concept to development and production. This role is key to developing efficient methods of manufacturing, creation of work instructions, and support requirements that ensure product quality.
Responsibilities
- Work safely in each environment assigned
- Act as an integral team member with the design team
- Act as an integral team member with Operations
- Provide risk analysis
- Create and validate methods of manufacture
- Ensure process includes the required objective evidence to meet customer requirements
- Develop and design tooling, fixtures, carts needed to fabricate parts
- Generate and track BOM for each program/project assigned
- Material and resource planning for each program/project assigned
- Coordinate with the shop floor personnel and skilled labor
- Create manufacturing workflow
- Lead development, LRIP (low-rate initial production), and production phases of programs assigned
- Solve technical problems and troubleshoot processes
- Work closely with Program Management to ensure production dates are being met
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR
- BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Design Engineering
- 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on mechanical experience, and assembly experience
- Background in Fabrication and Assembly
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, CAD models, and technical diagrams
- Familiarity with basic material principles
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
