About the role
KMT Waterjet is a global leader in waterjet cutting solutions, renowned for its cutting-edge technology, commitment to quality, and dedication to customer satisfaction. The Accounting Manager position plays a key role in driving and providing accurate financial reporting for the largest manufacturing facility within the $450mm+ Shape Technologies Group.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing team and develop positive team dynamics to ensure high performance.
- Ensure new parts and machining optimization projects are completed by the required deadline, at a reasonable cost, and with a robust process to engineered tolerances.
- Acts as a liaison with the Engineering department to ensure effective resolution of issues as they relate to manufacturing, including Sustaining Engineering.
- Acts as a liaison with the Purchasing department to provide an effective resolution of cost-saving issues as they relate to manufacturing.
- Works with the Engineering department by optimizing the design from a precision, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and repeatability point of view.
- Determines internal manufacturing capabilities and decides whether a manufacturing process needs to be sent out to a third-party manufacturer.
- Applies knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials while conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators to ensure parts are manufactured at an effective cost and to a high degree of precision and quality.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
- Conduct machine capability, floor space optimization, and workflow studies to drive improvements.
- Approves and processes Engineering Changes and updates routers to reflect ECs.
- Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for CNC programs, tooling, and set-ups of CNC equipment on a continuous basis.
- Manages and tracks process improvements, alternate part routings and structures, and tool cost reduction projects.
- Provides daily machine shop support for problem-solving and process improvement.
- Completes Capital Expenditure Requests for all manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Must be familiar with all types of CNC machines, cutting tools, and raw materials.
- Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standards.
- Able to adapt to a changing work environment, and competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar engineering field.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience, including CNC machining and assembly.
Skills
- Proficient in MS Office products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD packages.
