Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Seneca Foods Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Manufacturing Engineer at its Baraboo, Wisconsin location. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop, improve and optimize manufacturing processes by identifying areas for improvement; maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality; designing new products and processes; and ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and improving manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, speed and equipment layout
• Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors
• Optimizing facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
• Planning, executing and finalizing new projects according to strict deadlines within budget
• Completing design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
• Assisting with preventative maintenance programs in coordination with plant management
• Providing technical oversight and support with troubleshooting, quality, PM's and project management
• Performing other related duties assigned by management

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 24 months of related engineering experience in a food processing or can manufacturing setting
• Previous experience with Auto CAD or similar drafting software
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Ability to conduct statistical, strength/load and geometrical calculations
• Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
• Project management skills
• Problem solving ability
• Teamwork skills
