About the role
We are hiring for one of our trusted clients seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and cost
- Support prototype builds and new product launches from concept through production
- Lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, tooling, and engineering teams
- Serve as the primary technical contact for equipment vendors and suppliers
- Participate in design reviews to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs
- Develop manufacturing documentation including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and work instructions
- Support troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and automated production systems
- Ensure tooling and equipment meet production, timing, and quality requirements
- Support preventive maintenance initiatives for production equipment
- Drive quality improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Participate in cross-functional project teams supporting plant initiatives and new product launches
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent experience will be considered
- 4+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment
- Experience implementing manufacturing processes and production improvements
- Strong project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives
- Experience working with equipment vendors and coordinating machine installations
- Knowledge of: PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, GD&T, IATF 16949, Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal stamping, press room operations, or metal forming
- Experience with stamping presses and stamping tooling
- Understanding of automated manufacturing systems
- Experience working with Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment
- Able to troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment alongside maintenance or controls teams
- Electrical or automation background
- Experience supporting equipment commissioning and machine integration
- Experience working with robotics, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, or industrial automation is a plus
