This position is located in Hillsboro, OR.
Responsibilities
- Requires a broad knowledge of manufacturing practices, assembly prints, and bill of materials to create manufacturing-ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
- Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the manufacturing engineering portion of the system build.
- Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
- Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Requires contact with customers and vendor representatives; attends and participates in customer meetings.
- Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures.
- Inspects completed systems; partners with manufacturing and quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Supports project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Investigates customer or internal issues, determines the nature and extent of the problem, and recommends corrective actions.
- Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Evaluates and processes engineering change orders.
- Performs other duties as required; attendance is an essential duty of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in a related manufacturing/production position; or
- Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- 2+ years of related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or a related industry with a Bachelor of Science degree in the noted fields of study; or
- 5+ years of related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or a related industry with an Associate of Arts in a technical field.
- Working knowledge of a quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
Skills
- Lean Manufacturing Principles; Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
- Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
- Knowledge of electronic work instruction software is a plus (e.g., Sequence).
- ERP system software experience.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
- Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
- Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.
