About the role
To develop, document and prove out a manufacturing process that will control the manufacturing and assembly of a part that meets or exceeds the customer’s requirements within the allotted (budget) time.
Responsibilities
- Work well with others to promote teamwork, quality, craftsmanship and productivity

- Organize, problem solve and lead a project
- Gain information gathering skills, including finding and identifying essential information
- Interpret drawings and blueprints for requirements
- Operate ERP job processing systems (Epicor preferred)
- Create manufacturing and assembly plans based on customer requirements
- Participate in new product development meetings to review program for potential specification issues
- Interpret specifications from various sources (Customer, Military, Federal, Material etc.)
- Assist Manufacturing and Assembly during first-runs to ensure proper documentation and job closure is complete and accurate
- Help to develop skills of those within the department, assembly and manufacturing
- Follow written Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
- Understand and apply SPC and related methods
- Have knowledge of machine functions (G codes, M codes, Offsets, etc.)
- Know assembly techniques
- Operate CAD/CATIA software for design and model evaluation applications
- Design fixtures, jigs, and gages
- Understand and apply GD&T principles
- Troubleshoot problems and determine if machine or program error
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment
Requirements
- Good personal computer skills with knowledge of MSWord and MSExcel
- Interpret drawing packages (blueprint, parts list, etc.) for requirements

Qualifications
- 5-years experience with machining in same or related shop environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering science or related degree
